We recently bought a posh couch and are waiting for it as it gets manufactured (8 weeks). Evgueni and I searched for a long time. With the help of my Mom on 'D-day', we selected one that didn't look like potato sac material (Evgueni's words) nor leather that we couldn't afford (short of it being lesser quality or simply, ugly).
We had no idea when we chose it that they custom make the couches here! We chose depth of seat, height of seat and cushion backs, feet, fabric and firmness... oh and it has a pull-out like I've never seen before: (it's an L shaped couch) one of the seats (longer side of the L) lifts up like a lid and you can store blankets or whatever underneith then pull it out a bit to add depth to the seat. It turns it from a couch to a deep couch or double bed. Really cool. I can't wait since my butt is permanently flat from all the hard wooden chairs we've been using in the meantime...
Anyway, we plan on loving it for about 20 years cuz it should be amortized over that time!
