Thunderstorm in Frankfurt

For the last 40 minutes I've been watching a summer lightning show out my window. It did not disappoint.

I heard the thunder, re-opened the shutters, opened the window, moved all the cacti and lay on the window seat in my PJ's.

It was pouring! Sheets of rain blew along the road and over parked cars. Everyone's shutters were buttoned tight. There were skyfulls of flashing bright light every 1-2 seconds. Constant! Every few minutes I would see a crack of lightning across the sky which was followed by an impressive, throaty grumble.

Anhhhh, and the gusts blowing the rain smells in, what a delicious treat! Just as I left, there was a massive tree-like lightning rooting somewhere downtown. Likely a lightning rod somewhere.

Now I'm going to bed feeling very zen.
