Language mix-ups I’ve seen on menus in Russia:
- Boiled Language (means boiled beef tongue)
- Tortured Rabbit (means rabbit stew ~ although…)
- Mix of green salad with cotton cheese
- Pizza with hum
Too much information:
“Liver of the Geese: which were bought for a very high price from Testov having been fed by him personally in his country house, using special feeders where legs of the geese were partitioned with bars: “to cherish their livers!””
Something I don’t think I’ll try:
- Wart tongue salad
I just remembered another good one! "Sea hedgehog" (i.e. sea urchin!)
